What is Collagen?

Collagen is a protein found naturally in the body. It provides the mattress underpinning for soft, youthful skin, preserving its firmness and elasticity as well as the cushioning to protect joints. The body’s ability to make collagen decreases with age. We lose up to 1.5 % of collagen per year from the approximate age of 25! This loss of collagen can also be aggravated by certain lifestyle and external factors such as smoking and sun exposure. Fine lines and wrinkles form, and the skin loses its natural hydration. What is the difference between collagen in the skin and the collagen in the product?

The collagen naturally present in our skin, joints, tendons and ligaments has a high molecular weight (~300kDa). If applied on skin topically, it cannot be absorbed and if ingested, it is not easily digested or absorbed. The collagen used in our product is hydrolysed collagen (a smaller peptide form of collagen), which has a lower molecular weight (0.3 – 8KDa). It is easily digested in the stomach and absorbed in the small intestine where it enters the blood stream and reaches the deeper layer of the skin.

Where does the collagen come from?

Gold Collagen liquid formulations use hydrolysed collagen extracted from fish skin (Tilapia fish). All fish used to extract the collagen come from fish farms registered by the European Union for the import of edible fish and are deemed fit for human consumption and guaranteed by health certificates signed by official veterinarians.

What type of collagen is used in GOLD COLLAGEN®?

GOLD COLLAGEN® products are formulated with the highest quality hydrolysed marine collagen, made up of small peptides containing short chains of amino acids. The small peptides are easily absorbed and distributed by the blood stream throughout the whole body and skin. Is taking too much collagen bad for you?

Consuming too much collagen i.e. more than 10,000mg (10 grams) per day may lead to a mild gastrointestinal upset. 5000mg is the optimal amount for daily intake, There is no additional clinical benefit reported in increasing daily intake beyond this quantity.

At what age do I start to lose collagen?

As we move into our 20s and beyond, our bodies produce less collagen and we lose about 1.5% of our collagen per year. This is partly due to the natural, unavoidable ageing process as well as external factors. Pollution, dehydration, smoking and perhaps most of all, the effects of the sun, challenge our skin continuously.

How much collagen should I take per day?

5000mg is the right amount for daily intake, there is no additional clinical benefit reported in increasing daily intake beyond this quantity. This helps your skin’s firmness and elasticity.
Consuming too much collagen i.e. more than 10,000mg (10 grams) per day may lead to mild gastrointestinal upset.

What is the difference between the GOLD COLLAGEN® Hydrogel Mask and cream mask?

Hydrogel masks are made up of three-dimensional networks of polymers with highly effective moisturizing properties thanks to their high water content. In addition to its moisturizing properties, the hydrogel base used in the GOLD COLLAGEN® HYDROGEL MASK is heat sensitive.

This type of hydrogel has been chosen to facilitate the continuous and controlled administration of the active components, which are released into the skin thanks to the physical changes of the hydrogel base. Once the mask comes into contact with the skin, it gives an immediate cooling effect and as it reaches the body temperature it releases the active ingredients, which penetrate directly into the skin.

How often do you advice to use the HYDROGEL MASK?

Remarkable effects were observed in a clinical study already after 1 mask application, further highly statistically significant increase in skin hydration and improvement in the skin tone were observed after 4 applications of the GOLD COLLAGEN® HYDROGEL MASK. Our Hydrogel Mask should be applied topically on clean skin once a week for a minimum of 4 weeks to achieve the maximum benefits of increased skin hydration and luminosity.

No, the mask should be disposed after use. 

What is the best moment of the day to use the mask? 

The GOLD COLLAGEN® HYDROGEL MASK can be applied at any time of the day; it can be an excellent make-up base and make your skin glow before an important meeting or it can be applied before going to sleep to allow the skin to fully absorb the nutrients.

How long does the mask need to stay on my face?

Our Hydrogel Mask should be applied on dry, clean skin for 30 minutes. The hydrophilic hydrogel base technology together with the penetrating abilities of hyaluronan create a mask which is able to deliver the active ingredients into the skin, leading to significant improvement in skin hydration, skin tone and skin appearance within 30 minutes! It’s perfect to apply before makeup, or just before bedtime for radiant, glowing morning skin.

Do I need to wash off the remaining liquid from the Hydrogel Mask from my face afterwards? 

The Hydrogel Mask should be removed gently and any excess moisture which is not absorbed after 30 minutes can be gently massaged into the skin.

Do I need to take GOLD COLLAGEN® VEGAN with food?

We recommend to take GOLD COLLAGEN® liquid supplements on an empty stomach for better absorption. In case of intestinal disorders, or an upset stomach you can take it during a meal.

What happens when I stop taking the product?

Our research studies show that the level of collagen slowly reverts back to its original level before any GOLD COLLAGEN® treatment started. Most of our customers, once they have adopted the product into their daily health and wellbeing routine, never look back. Some of our customers do stop using GOLD COLLAGEN® and many of them also come back for the same reason.

What foods should I avoid to help slow down the ageing process?

Can I take the product if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

There are no studies at present that support the consuming of food supplements during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Therefore, it is not recommended, unless otherwise suggested by your doctor.

We would recommend you try our GOLD COLLAGEN® HYDROGEL MASK as a pregnancy treat. Our pregnant customers love it because they have suffered from dry and/or saggy skin. Can the products be taken with medication?

Which skin type can benefit from the HYDROGEL MASK?

Who should take GOLD COLLAGEN® products? 

GOLD COLLAGEN® liquid nutritional supplements are specialist, innovative and great tasting collagen drinks. They are designed for adults who wish to promote healthy and beautiful looking skin, hair, nail and joint health as well as those who wish to counteract the visible signs of ageing and take care of their overall health & wellbeing.  

 I’m already taking PURE GOLD COLLAGEN®, can I take an additional GOLD COLLAGEN® liquid collagen supplement in the same day? 

We recommend to only take 1 GOLD COLLAGEN® liquid supplement per day as many ingredients found within each liquid formulation contains 100% of your daily recommended intake. Taking more than 1 serving at a time may result in over consuming some of the vitamins and minerals found within the liquid collagen supplement 

What is the recommended daily dose and best time to take the product?

For our single dose (30-50ml) bottles - we recommend drinking 1 bottle a day, on an empty stomach for best absorption. Alternatively you can consume the product after meals if you experience indigestion or gastrointestinal upset.

For our MULTIDOSE formulations - Consume 1 dose (1 large tablespoon) per day. For optimum and longer lasting results, you can take 2 doses per day. Most effective when taken first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. It can be taken on its own mixed or with juice or water for an added nutrient boost!

Yes, however, please bear in mind that each product contains ingredients such as vitamins that are already at the maximum recommended daily allowance (RDA, now replaced by NRV Nutrient Reference Value) so you need to ensure that you do not exceed your daily nutritional needs. It would be best to consult with your doctor to ensure you are receiving the optimal amount for your daily nutritional needs.

For how long do you need to use the product to see visible results?

The product results will vary depending on the individual and their starting skin, hair, health conditions, diet and lifestyle. According to our clinical trial results, with daily and consecutive consumption of the product (1x bottle), one can expect the skin to become more hydrated within 3 weeks, followed by a reduction in fine lines and deeper wrinkles within 6 weeks and an increase in skin elasticity within 9 weeks.

Some individuals have reported to experience more positive results and/or at a faster rate than others. Our recommendation is that the product should be consumed for 12 weeks in order to realise all its benefits. There is no maximum length of time over which GOLD COLLAGEN® supplements may be consumed, provided you do not exceed the recommended 1 drink a day. How many bottles of VEGAN GOLD COLLAGEN® do I need to drink daily?

For best results, drink 1 bottle (50ml) of VEGAN a day on an empty stomach for better absorption, or with meals if you have digestive or gastrointestinal problems.

Enjoy the treatment for at least 30 days to experience some benefits and 3 months for longer lasting results. With approximately 100% of your daily vitamin C and B12 requirements, it supports your immune defenses and your vegan diet every day.

Shake the drink well before consuming and do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

What is the best time of day to drink VEGAN GOLD COLLAGEN®?

It is recommended to drink 1 bottle in the morning on an empty stomach.

We recommend drinking 1 bottle per day for a minimum of 1 month.  To experience longer lasting results we recommend to drink VEGAN for at least 3 months.

We also recommend drinking the product as an energy boost because it contains vitamin B6. PURE and ACTIVE contain vitamin B6 at 100% and FORTE contains 118% NRV of vitamin B6. The secret to success is to take one bottle daily!

Do the products contain fish oils, porcine, chicken, beef, antibiotics, hormones (phyto hormones/phytoestrogens), nanotechnology, gluten, sugars, alcohol, artificial preservatives/artificial colours?

That depends on the particular product. ARTRON COLLAGEN® and ARTRON COLLAGEN® MULTIDOSE are formulated with the highest quality hydrolysed bovine collagen (from beef), to help support healthy bones, joints and muscles.

The rest of our liquid collagen formulations PURE, PURE PLUS, FORTE, FORTE PLUS, RX, ACTIVE, HAIRLIFT, MULTIDOSE, MULTIDOSE 40+, MULTIDOSE HAIRLIFT are all made from premium hydrolysed marine collagen (derived from fish). All our products are gluten-free.

For those on a vegan and vegetarian diet, we recommend our Vegan alternative, GOLD COLLAGEN® VEGAN, which works hard to help nourish your skin, hair and nails from within. All of our liquid collagen products are non GMO, hormone free, gluten free, porcine free, chicken-free, alcohol-free, free from artificial colours, lactose-free and sugar free.

Do the products exert narcotic and psychotropic effects or have potent or drastic components, radioactive substances, banned food additives, antibiotics, insecticides and rodenticides?

No, GOLD COLLAGEN® products do not have any of the above mentioned. 

Is GOLD COLLAGEN® suitable for vegetarians and vegans?

Collagen is a protein found naturally in the skin, preserving its firmness and elasticity. All collagen comes from animal protein. Therefore, a vegan collagen does not exist. Contrary to collagen supplements (derived from animal proteins), GOLD COLLAGEN® VEGAN offers a plant-based protein supplement carefully formulated for skin hair and nails. It is our special formula specially formulated to provide support for those on a vegan and vegetarian diet, while helping nourish your skin, hair and nails from within. Are the products Halal and Kosher

What is the function of the Black Pepper Extract?

What is the source of hyaluronic acid?

Why has GOLD COLLAGEN® VEGAN been developed?

All collagen is derived from animal proteins. Therefore vegan collagen does not exist. How do I cancel my monthly Subscription box?

You need to cancel the auto-renewal at least 48 hours BEFORE you receive your next box delivery. You can cancel at any point in your subscription up to the point mentioned above, however, your subscription will only end once your term has ended, i.e. if you have a 1-month subscription, and cancel after your 1st box, your 1st box will be your last box which in turn completes your 1 month subscription.
