Chondroitin sulphate
Chondroitin sulphate is an amino sugar derivative, made up of a long chain of sugars (N-acetylgalactosamine and glucuronic acid), often with more than 100 repeats in the chain. It is a member of the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) family, which includes hyaluronic acid. It acts as a shock absorber, providing resistance to compression and is thus perfectly suited for use in cartilage and joints. It maintains fluid and supports flexibility of the joint.
Along with glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate has become a widely used supplement for the treatment of a range of joint problems including osteoarthritis. Research supports the idea that supplementation with these ingredients can decrease joint pain and improve joint mobility, improving overall health and quality of life.
Benefits:
- Repairs cartilage
- Provides resistance to compression - a great shock absorber
