What is collagen?
Collagen is a protein found naturally in the body. It provides the mattress underpinning for soft, youthful skin, preserving its firmness and elasticity as well as the cushioning to protect joints. The body’s ability to make collagen decreases with age. We lose up to 1.5 % of collagen per year from the approximate age of 25! This loss of collagen can also be aggravated by certain lifestyle and external factors such as smoking and sun exposure. Fine lines and wrinkles form, and the skin loses its natural hydration. What is the difference between the collagen in the skin and the collagen in the product?
The collagen naturally present in our skin, joints, tendons and ligaments has a high molecular weight (~300kDa). If applied on skin topically, it cannot be absorbed and if ingested, it is not easily digested or absorbed. The collagen used in our product is hydrolysed collagen (a smaller peptide form of collagen), which has a lower molecular weight (0.3 – 8KDa). It is easily digested in the stomach and absorbed in the small intestine where it enters the blood stream and reaches the deeper layer of the skin.

I’m already taking Pure GOLD COLLAGEN®, can I take an additional GOLD OLLAGEN® liquid collagen supplement in the same day? We recommend to only take 1 GOLD COLLAGEN® liquid supplement per day as many ingredients found within each liquid formulation contains 100% of your dailyecrecommned intake. Taking more than 1 serving at a time may result in over consuming some of the vitamins and minerals found within the liquid collagen supplement.

Where does the collagen come from? GOLD COLLAGEN® liquid formulations use hydrolysed collagen extracted from fish skin (Tilapia fish). All fish used to extract the collagen come from fish farms registered by the European Union for the import of edible fish and are deemed fit for human consumption and guaranteed by health certificates signed by official veterinarians.
- Why are the products in a liquid form rather than tablets?
Our scientists have formulated GOLD COLLAGEN® supplements in liquid format instead of a tablet or pill for the following reasons: Optimal absorption + bioavailability - Absorption is better in liquids because it is already in solution and thus requires less processing in the digestive system (e.g. dissolution of tablets). Less processing within the digestive system. More active ingredients- Tablets and powders cannot effectively combine as many ingredients at a high dose compared to a liquid, therefore a liquid provides a more complex and complete formula. That depends on the particular product. Our liquid collagen formulations for PURE, FORTE, & HAIRLIFT are all made from premium marine collagen (derived from fish). All our products are gluten-free. For those on a vegan and vegetarian diet, we recommend our Vegan tablet alternative, GOLD COLLAGEN® DEFENCE, which works hard to help nourish your skin, hair and nails from within, in a travel-friendly light format. All of our liquid collagen products are GMO -free, hormone free, gluten free, porcine free, chicken- free, alcohol-free, free from artificial colors, lactose-free and sugar free. - Do the products exert narcotic and psychotropic effects or have potent or drastic components, radioactive substances, banned food additives, antibiotics, insecticides and rodenticides?
No, GOLD COLLAGEN® products do not have any of the above mentioned. - Is GOLD COLLAGEN® suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
Collagen is a protein found naturally in the skin, preserving its firmness and elasticity. All collagen comes from animal protein. Therefore, a vegan collagen does not exist. Contrary to collagen supplements (derived from animal proteins), GOLD COLLAGEN® DEFENCE offers is our special formula specially formulated to provide support for those on a vegan and vegetarian diet, while helping nourish your skin, hair and nails from within. Yes. We have a certificate from the Islamic and Cultural Centre certifying that the fish-extracted hydrolysed collagen used in GOLD COLLAGEN® PURE is halal. It is also certified kosher and deemed to fully meet the requirements of the Orthodox Jewish Dietary Laws. - What does the product taste like?

GOLD COLLAGEN® products contain vegetable based hyaluronic acid (HA). - Do the GOLD COLLAGEN® products contain gold?
No. GOLD COLLAGEN® products do not contain any gold. GOLD COLLAGEN® is a registered trademark belonging to MINERVA Research Labs. - Doesn’t the stomach acid destroy the collagen preventing it from reaching the dermis (skin’s deeper layer)?
No. The collagen peptides in our product are specifically formulated to retain their structural integrity and cannot be broken down by the stomach acid or enzymes. - Can the GOLD COLLAGEN® products be taken in combination with other food supplements?
Yes, however, please bear in mind that each product contains ingredients such as vitamins that are already at the maximum recommended daily allowance (RDA, now replaced by NRV Nutrient Reference Value) so you need to ensure that you do not exceed your daily nutritional needs. It would be best to consult with your doctor to ensure you are receiving the optimal amount for your daily nutritional needs. - For how long do you need to use the product to see visible results?
The product results will vary depending on the individual and their starting skin, hair, health conditions, diet and lifestyle. According to our clinical trial results, with daily and consecutive use of the product (1x bottle), one can expect the skin to become more hydrated within 3 weeks, followed by a reduction in fine lines and deeper wrinkles within 6 weeks and an increase in skin elasticity within 9 weeks. Some individuals have reported to experience more positive results and/or at a faster rate than others. Our recommendation is that the product should be taken for 12 weeks in order to realise all its benefits. There is no maximum length of time over which GOLD COLLAGEN® supplements may be used, provided you do. - What happens when I stop taking the product?
Our research studies show that the level of collagen slowly reverts back to its original level before any GOLD COLLAGEN® treatment started. Most of our customers, once they have adopted the product into their daily health and wellbeing routine, never look back. Some of our customers do stop using GOLD COLLAGEN® and many of them also come back for the same reason. - Can I use the product if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
- There are no studies at present that support the use of food supplements during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Therefore, it is not recommended, unless otherwise suggested by your doctor. We would recommend you try our Hydrogel Mask as a pregnancy treat. Our pregnant customers love it because they have suffered from dry and/or saggy skin. If you have experienced allergic reactions to fish or soya products, DO NOT take GOLD COLLAGEN®. - Are the products suitable for diabetics?
Yes. Our product contains natural sweetener Stevia and sucralose. However, if you have any concerns, we recommend consulting your doctor prior to taking GOLD COLLAGEN® products. - Are the products tested for quality and safety?
